MTV VMAs 2021 aired earlier tonight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The annual Video Music Awards was hosted by Doja Cat.
Before the show started, a Scuffle happened between MMA Fighter Conor McGregor and rapper turned pop-funk artist Machine Gun Kelly. The popular Irish fighter was invited to the show, along with his longtime partner Dee Devlin.
According to TMZ, Conor wanted to say hello to Machine Gun, as he walked up to the singer with his hand out.
Reports say that MGK said something to McGregor which he couldn’t hear, after that Kelly’s security pushed the MMA fighter away. Some sources say that Conor wanted to have a picture with the Cleveland artist, which he refused and then things escalated from there.
Machine Gun Kelly pushed Conor away, who stumbled back and spilled his drink. Then Conor threw half the drink at Machine Gun as well his girlfriend Megan Fox.
Things started to get ugly at the Red Carpet and both of them had to be stopped by their respective teams.
Pagesix sources state that “They scuffled then it settled down and Conor went for him again, [McGregor] was ready to throw fists. Security was having trouble holding him back.”
Even after the clips and images emerged, the McGregor team denied that the altercation happened. “Conor only fights fighters,” they said. It’s still unclear what was the actual reason behind the heated scuffle between the two.
“Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean, I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”
Meanwhile, Machine Gun Kelly and black bear won the Best Alternative with their video for “my ex’s best friend.”
