As a personal development book addict, I read tons of books, maybe I should show you all the books I have in my library, it is huge!!!!
Now, as a female entrepreneur, desiring to be a successful girl boss, I spent a lot of time reading personal development books to learn how to build a powerful business mindset and become a better version of myself. I am still always looking for new inspiring books to read.
I summarize here my favorite motivational books that every girl boss should read to inspire you in your business journey.
If you are a busy girl boss, and don’t have enough time to enjoy a paper book, I highly recommend “Audible”. It is an audiobook service that allows you to listen to books while doing other things in your day.
You Are a Badass – By Jen Sincero
This is the 1st book I have read when I started my entrepreneur journey, and I swear you’ll find the best motivational tips ever, a series of advices and exercises to inspire you to create the life you totally love.
It is a self-help book to be more confident with yourself and understand avoid the self-sabotaging beliefs you have and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want.
Written by Jen Sincero, who is a bestselling author and world-traveling coach. He also wrote “You Are a Badass Every Day: How to Keep Your Motivation Strong, Your Vibe High, and Your Quest for Transformation Unstoppable” and “You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth”
The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck – By Mark Manson
Another self-help book for entrepreneurs and girl bosses; this will really change your life for better.
Honestly, I’m not always caring about what others think, especially when the people are negative and just want to criticize for free, but, reading this book allowed me to de-stress by understanding that we can’t control other peoples behaviors, but we can control our attitude toward how it affects us. Stop trying to be positive all the time so that we can truly become better and happier people.
I loved the way he motivates us when saying that: “We learn from our mistakes.” And “You have to fall before you can get up.” Do not hesitate to read this book!
#GirlBoss – By Sophia Amoruso
Of course, this is The ULTIMATE book you should read about Girl Boss, it includes the real life story of Sophia Amoruso starting from nothing to become a the CEO of a multinational business a few years later. I’ll not spoil!!
It’s a great book to keep you motivated even if it seems difficult and a long journey to reach your goals, but YES it’s possible to create a successful business from nothing.
Atomic Habits – By James Clear
In the category of self-helping and personal growth, Atomic habits is one of the must read books of every entrepreneur, helpful in both personal and business journey to success. It’s all about how to break your bad habits and transform your life with tiny changes in behavior; it just gives so many good tips to stay motivated and committed to your goals and new GOOD habits. Along the way, he tells inspiring stories of Olympic gold medalists, leading CEOs, and distinguished scientists who have used the science of tiny habits to stay productive, motivated, and happy.
The richest man in Babylon
Money and productivity are also very important for your business success, there are many good books in this category, but if I have only one to recommend, it should be “The Richest Man In Babylon”! It tells the story of a poor scribe who became the “richest man in Babylon.”
This book is old, written in 1926, but still giving the fundamental pillars of starting a wealth journey, how to gain more and improve your capacity and knowledge.
However, this book is a bit difficult to read and sometimes you have to read between the lines to get the fable lesson.
GirlCode – By Cara Alwill Leyba
If you are looking for a really motivational book about Girl entrepreneur like (#GilrBoss) you should read this one: GirlCode. Written by a blogger to teach us how to believe in yourself and avoid your fears, she also goes further in what it means to really work hard to live your dreams.
Many encouraging messages should give you the motivation you need to work hard and achieve your goals:
“You are worthy of every desire in your heart”
“They don’t wait for someone to present them with an opportunity; they go out and create opportunities for themselves”
“I actively looked for the lesson that situation was trying to teach me”
Shark Tales – By Barbara Corcoran
This book inspired by Barbara’s real story and how she Turned $1,000 into a Billion Dollar Business!! She quit her job as a diner waitress, and started a tiny real estate office in New York City. Using the unconventional lessons she learned from her homemaker mom, she gradually built it into a $6 billion dollar business. Now Barbara’s even more famous for the no-nonsense wisdom she offers to entrepreneurs on Shark Tank, ABC’s hit reality TV show.
It’s not the best motivational book I have read, but it worth it!
So, what about your favorite girl boss books? Have you read any of these books listed above?
